Holidays can put a lot of stress on us. I would like to share a few practical tips with you that you can do in order to be more relaxed during Holiday season.
1. Relax and chew your food very, very well!!!
Sit down and relax when you are going to enjoy a meal. Do you have a hard time relaxing before or during a meal? CLICK HERE to find out more about these helpful ESSENTIAL OIL BLENDS that put you to a parasympathetic (relaxed) state. You can use them anytime you feel stressed out.
By chewing your food properly, your stomach and the rest of your digestive tract does not have to work hard. You won’t be so tired either and you will fill up quicker. This is a great tip for weight-loss.
Eat with your eyes as well, listen to the conversations and take your time. You put so much effort and energy into the meal, you deserve to enjoy it!
2. Put down the cutlery in between bites. This is a great method for not overeating!
3. Do not drink too many liquids with your meals as not to dilute your digestive juices.
A little wine and soup are actually fine. Drink liquids 30 minutes before your meal and one hour after a meal. You can have a few sips with your meal if you need to take medications or supplements of course.
4. Avoid ice in your beverage!
Yes, very cold beverage puts shock on your stomach and shuts down digestion. Hence the burping, acid reflux, indigestion, gas, achy tummy …
5. Limit sugar intake as much as you can. It is easier said than done, I know, but sugar is an irritant that causes blood sugar spikes and those ups and downs in mood. Choose desserts that have quality ingredients. An ESSENTIAL OIL BLEND for BLOOD SUGAR BALANCE is a great way to prevent the sugar spikes.
These are few practical tips that you and anyone else can implement. Be kind to yourself and your body. Be mindful, relax and appreciate every single bite. ;o)
