This is Anna from WBN. I know it has been a while since I posted something. So I am back as well as my blog. ;o) Happy belated New Year everyone!
Why BEAUTYCOUNTER Matters
“This is not a beauty company. It’s a MOVEMENT.” Gregg, CEO of Beautycounter
“We want Congress to prioritize safe beauty.”
Our Mission: Get safer products into the hands of everyone.
“On average, American women use 12 beauty products a day, resulting in exposure to over 100 chemicals before they leave the bathroom in the morning.”
“There are 85,000 chemicals (they did not exist before WWII) and only 10% have safety data – 10,000 of that 85,000 are in the personal care industry!”
“The European Union bans/restricts nearly 1,400 toxic chemicals, while in the US bans only 30! It was 11 not that long ago.” (Beautycounter will not use 1,500 toxic chemicals in their products no matter what!)
As I became a Mom I became interested in other things related to health, including safer cosmetics and cleaning products. I believe it is also very important to pay attention to what you put on your body and what you surround yourself with. My daughter Evie has been a great teacher in this and I want the best for her health and future when it comes to safer personal care products.
Life is constantly about learning something new. One afternoon when Evie was napping I was looking through FB and found three of my fellow colleagues NTPs – who are as crazy as me about checking ingredients in everything – like a personal care product line called Beautycounter. BC carries really awesome and safer products! And what is more, they educate people about what ingredients are safe and which ones are unsafe (the Never List). People behind Beautycounter have been contacting the government agencies to bring a change, to bring stricter regulation for personal care products.
Watch, please, on Youtube: We All Deserve Better and The Stink Movie about how chemicals are affecting us. (https://stinkmovie.com/) It will change your life for the better.
Beautycounter is countering the current beauty standards, not a counter in a department store. ;o)
Why I joined: Because I want to educate people about these issues, spread the mission, make a difference in people’s lives, and keep my family, friends, and communities healthy.
Have a blessed and healthy week, Anna
